Healthcare Providers' Attitudes on Sexuality

Dearest healthcare providers,

We are emailing you to gauge your interest in being part of a referral system to a gender and sexuality hotline run by مشروع ألألف/ the A project. The A Project is a local NGO seeking Agency, Alternatives, and Autonomy in sexuality, sexual health, and gender, without apologetically limiting the discussion to disease-prevention and violence, but to also be sex positive and celebratory of sexuality. The A Project has kicked off a  sexuality hotline in Lebanon, dedicated especially to women and trans*  individuals, while providing space for support groups, and offering workshops and trainings among marginalized communities receiving little-to-no attention and resources: youth, women, refugee communities, migrant communities, and displaced citizens. The A Project works in collaboration with other healthcare providers and organizations such as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) – on enhancing service providers and receivers’ knowledge and attitudes on sexuality, gender and sexual and reproductive health.

Since issues around sexuality are still relatively taboo in Lebanon, we want our referrals from the Sexuality Hotline to be to providers who are sensitive to such issues, or who might be willing to undergo short sensitization trainings. If you’re interested in being part of our referral system, we would appreciate you filling this 15-20 minute survey about your views and practice regarding certain topics around sexuality.

Please note that, if you’re interested in contributing to our referral database and the promotion of sexual and reproductive health in Lebanon, you will be asked to write your name, specialization, and interests at the end of the survey. So while it is not anonymous, we assure you your information is strictly confidential, and will not be shared with anyone else. The sole purpose is to refer health service seekers to sensitive providers. If you have any questions at all, please know that you can contact us via email info@theaproject.org or call us at 71/169809.

If you know of other healthcare providers who are interested in being part of a network aiming to promote better sexual and reproductive health and who have an interest in gender justice, we would appreciate it if you could send them the below link to this survey too!
